I just wish the UK government would stay out of foreign affairs with countries such as Ukraine. All I want Boris and Pritti to do is wage war on the rubber dinghy invasion. Is that too much to ask?

Some years ago I read an account on this site about a sister who arranged to meet N H Knorr at a convention some time after Rutherford died in 1942. She told him of Rutherford's "going's on" but Knorr said they had known about it for many years and should have done something then but didn't. It was too late after his death so they should "leave it to Jehovah".
My parents became JW's just after Rutherford's death and his influence carried on for many years. Children such as myself were never allowed to have vaccinations against Polio, Diphtheria and Whooping Cough, and aluminium cooking pans were taboo. As BB said, the old ones, my parents included, would never believe any of this, just put it down to them apostate lies!

the prime minister attended this party for 25 minutes but his excuse yesterday at pmqs was that he thought it was a work event.
as excuses go, this one is right up there with 'the dog ate my homework', lol.. boris johnson must resign - if you force harsh rules on people but break those same rules yourself, it's surely game over.. his private secretary should go, too..

Two elders i know personally are under 30. The younger one is 25 and was appointed about 2 years ago, the other is just about 30 and has been an elder for 3 or 4 years. They have to appoint these youngsters as the majority of our elders are well over 70 and no longer have the health and energy they used to have.

Should young children peddle Watchtower Society literature?
by RULES & REGULATIONS inone thing i always disliked about the watchtower society is how they use young children tp peddle their literature.
my mom insisted that my brother (12 years old) and i (9 years old) go out in field service every saturday morning.
didn't matter if it was 90 degrees or 20 degrees, we were out peddling watchtower magazines.

Each child, when he grows older, can then make an informed decision about whether to adopt his parents’ faith.
That may be true but if he/she chooses not to be a JW then as soon as they are legally adult (18 in UK) the parents will be expected to boot them out. That was made very clear in a convention video a couple of years ago. Phone home if you're in trouble, don't expect your call to be answered. Having been raised in a family where you are strongly discouraged from forming non-JW friendships you are going to be very lonely. Chances are you have been similarly discouraged from a University education so that will affect your future finances. So, yes you can leave but we will make life as hellish as possible!
